Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most often. If yours is not here, write to us — the answer usually ends up on this page.
Which receivers does YODiM work with?
Denon and Marantz network receivers released from 2016 onward — the generation that speaks HEOS. HEOS speakers are recognised as well.
Does YODiM need an account or an internet connection?
No. YODiM speaks to your devices on your own local network. No account to create, no cloud service, and nothing leaves your home.
What does the Pro upgrade add?
The free version controls one receiver in full. The Pro upgrade adds multiple receivers on one screen, HEOS grouping, fine sound tuning and presets.
Why can I not calibrate my speakers from YODiM?
Because correcting a system is not a listening adjustment: it rests on an acoustic measurement of the room, taken with a microphone. Audyssey and Dirac do that work. YODiM reads their state and lets you adjust everything that comes after.
My receiver does not appear. What should I check?
Check that the receiver and the phone are on the same network, that the receiver’s network control is set to always on, and that the phone is not on an isolated guest network.
My receiver no longer displays anything on my TV since I plugged my devices into the TV directly.
A receiver writes its on-screen display into the video that passes through it. When your sources are plugged into the television and the receiver only gets the sound back, over ARC or eARC, no video passes through it any more — so it has no screen left to write on. Nothing is broken: the receiver still receives every command and applies it. It has simply gone silent on the picture. That is where YODiM takes over: sound mode, volume, incoming format and active channels appear on your phone instead.
